Elder Ada Deer (Menominee), Distinguished Lecturer Emertia, University of Wisconsin-Madison, reflects on her life experiences and the role of higher education in tribal sovereignty. In conversation with Dr. Lisa Poupart (Lac Du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Anishinaabeg), Associate Professor of First Nations Studies and Director, First Nations Education, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Ada Deer is one of her mentors.

Interactive Seminar with Lee Mun Wah, internationally renowned Chinese-American documentary filmmaker, author, poet, Asian folkteller, educator, community therapist, and master diversity trainer.

Lee Mun Wah will provide practical tools for faculty and instructors to help facilitate and negotiate meaningful conversations in the classroom about difficult topics related to race and equity. Using his experience and knowledge of mindful communication he will address appropriate ways to respond to incidents or misunderstandings that may occur in the classroom.
