ABSTRACT SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Abstract Submission CLOSED: The organizing committee of the 18th ICPD welcomes abstracts describing original research for consideration for poster or oral presentations at the conference. In addition to providing a means to screen and organize presentations, all accepted abstracts will be provided to conference attendees in a digital abstract book. To be accepted for inclusion, all abstracts must meet the following quality standards:

  • The objectives of the work should be clearly stated at the beginning of the abstract.
  • The research described must be completed, including statistical analysis. The primary findings of the research  should be clearly presented, supported by the results of the statistical analysis. Abstracts including statements such as “results will be presented” in lieu of describing the results will be rejected.
  • The basic experimental approach or design used in the research must be described.
  • The animal or model system(s) employed in the research must be described sufficiently to enable interpretation of  the results.
  • A clear and succinct conclusion from the work should be included.

Abstract formatting guidelines:

  • The title is limited to 20 words.
  • The abstract is limited to 500 words.
  • Limit the use of abbreviations and define all abbreviations on first use.

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed for quality of writing and scientific rigor. Authors may be asked to revise the abstract. If an abstract is rejected, authors will be allowed the opportunity to cancel meeting registration and receive a refund. Abstracts deemed acceptable will be assigned to poster or oral presentations depending on author preferences, space / time constraints, and alignment with session areas of focus.
