There are limited funds available to support up to 15 trainees, and awards will cover the conference registration fee only. Please note that parking passes are not included; attendees who choose to purchase a parking pass for the week of the conference will be responsible for that cost.

This NSF Grant aims to support participation in the Beneficial Microbes and International Symbiosis Society research communities. Priority will be given to applicants for whom this will be their first time attending a Beneficial Microbes or International Symbiosis Society conference, as well as those submitting an abstract. We also strongly encourage applications from students enrolled at smaller institutions (5,000 students or fewer) and from postgraduate trainees seeking to expand their professional development and engagement within the field.

All lodging locations (except University Housing) offer complimentary parking or for a small daily fee. This parking permit will be valid in a lot near Memorial Union with the lot location to be confirmed one week prior to the conference. Parking permits are ordered (3) weeks prior to the conference and are non-refundable at that time.

Wire Transfers:
Please contact Conference Management at microbes@union.wisc.edu or (608) 890-2645. All expenses incurred in the wire transfer must be covered by the attendee. Please indicate the delegate's full name as a reference on all bank transfers. In the event of a negative balance, additional costs will be collected on site.

Doing Business As: The charge will appear on your credit card statement as WU-Conference Management.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be received in writing no later than June 26, 2026. After this date all payments are NON-REFUNDABLE. If a cancellation notification is received on or before June 26, 2026, the registration fee is refundable, minus a $125 processing fee. Parking permits are non-refundable. WU Conference Management may require up to 10 business days to process and issue a refund.
